OnOff Journal / Buying guides
Choose your bag around what you carry, not the biggest capacity claim. A quick game after work and a full tournament day create different packing lists.
Build your packing list first
Lay out your usual kit: racket, balls, shoes, bottle, towel, spare shirt, grips and the small items you need at the club. Add a second racket only if you actually carry one. This gives you a more useful reference than “I need a large bag”.
Think about the journey too. Will you walk to the club, travel by bike, leave from work or put the bag in a small car boot? The carry system and access to your phone or keys may matter as much as total capacity.
| Your routine | Format to compare | Confirm before buying |
|---|---|---|
| One racket and essentials | Compact backpack | Racket fit and separate storage for small items |
| Work to court | Backpack with organised compartments | Shoe separation and any work-item requirements |
| More kit or a spare racket | Larger padel racket bag | Loaded bulk, compartments and carry options |
Read capacity claims in context
A claim such as “up to seven rackets” describes a possible use of space. It does not mean you can necessarily carry that many plus the rest of your kit in the arrangement you want. Look at compartments and access, then ask about your actual packing list.

The HEAD Tour Padel Bag L – Green lists three main compartments with space for up to seven rackets, an integrated shoe compartment, external accessory pockets and a backpack carry system. One main compartment has CCT+ climate control technology. These are manufacturer-listed features, not an OnOff packing test.
That makes it a relevant comparison for players carrying more equipment. Someone travelling with one racket and a few essentials may prefer the smaller footprint of a backpack. See the full bag collection to compare formats.
Five details worth checking
- Dimensions: compare them with your storage space and transport routine.
- Shoes: confirm whether there is a separate compartment and how it shares space with the main section.
- Rackets: check how your particular racket sits inside, including its handle.
- Access: decide whether you want to reach small essentials without opening the main compartment.
- Carrying: compare straps and how the loaded bag will sit on your journey.
Pack it for the next session
Keep wet clothing and shoes separated from clean items where the bag's design allows, and follow its care instructions. Empty and check your kit after a session rather than discovering a missing grip or an old can of balls at the court.
If you are comparing two bags, send us your packing list and their exact names. We can help you check the listed compartments and dimensions. We will not infer real loaded capacity from a studio image.
